Libertarians are NOT extremists!

"...in America today there exists a deep popular antagonism toward Washington special interests, and that sentiment can be mobilized for various agendas--from the nativist right to the libertarian center to the protectionist left."

Who is really paying taxes?
by Dan Walters of the Scramento Bee

Finally, a leftist acknowledges who pays the vast majority of all income taxes; apparently, however, he believes that those who earn more than $100,000 per year have not really "earned" it, but are merely the beneficiaries of government largess and are therefore obligated to pay (and pay and pay and pay) for all of the wasteful and counter-productive government programs.

The left and the right are both threats to freedom; both advocate the use of government force to pursue their social and economic goals and to impose their wills on the rest of society, routinely violating the United States Constitution, especially the Bill of Rights. But which is the greatest threat to your liberty, today? Clearly, it's the left. Rights for individuals have always been the enemy of collectivists. The Soviet Union's Communism and Nazi Germany's National Socialism were both creatures of the left.

And if you don't think Bill "Slick Willy" Clinton and Hillary "vast right-wing conspiracy" Clinton are both radical leftists, then you just haven't been paying attention. The policies advocated by the Clintons are dangerously similar to those of Nazi Germany.

The Fifth Amendment,
Self-Incrimination,
and Gun Registration

by Clayton Kramer

In Haynes v. U.S. (1968) the Supreme Court ruled that gun registration laws do not apply to convicted felons:

"We hold that a proper claim of the constitutional privilege against self-incrimination [fifth amendment] provides a full defense to prosecutions either for failure to register a firearm under sec.5841 or for possession of an unregistered firearm under sec.5851" [Haynes v. U.S., 390 U.S. 85, 100, 88 S.Ct. 722, 732 (1968)]

The Patriot Petition

The National Education Association (NEA) has announced a national campaign to collect petition signatures in favor of more federal gun control. Given the sad state of government-run education, one might conclude that the NEA would serve the nation better by using its resources to improve education rather than in trampling our Constitution. Nevertheless, the association hopes to collect as many as five million signatures and deliver them to Congress as evidence that Americans want more stringent gun control. A local Sacramento group has started a national petition drive to counter the NEA. The Patriot Petition is now being circulated and all who value our Constitution are asked to sign opposing further national gun control measures. Copies of the petition are available to citizens who would like to sign or help circulate the petition. You may download and print (on 8 1/2" x 14" paper) a copy of The Patriot Petition in Adobe Acrobat portable document format ("pdf") or you may go to the The Patriot Petition website for other ways to obtain a copy of the petition.

Al Gore is a pawn of HCI
[HCI=Handgun Control, Inc.]

On July 8, 1947, witnesses claim a spaceship with five aliens aboard crashed on a sheep-and-cattle ranch outside Roswell, NM, an incident they say has been covered up by the military. On March 31, 1948, exactly nine months after that day, Al Gore was born. That clears up a lot of things.

"I invented trigger-locks"
Al Gore (sometime in the future)

Al Gore's position on gun control shows that he already plans to violate his oath of office (if he's elected) to "...preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution..." (which still includes the Second Amendment).

George W. Bush, much like his father, is a pandering "moderate" (socialist-lite) Republican who believes in so-called "sensible" gun control, like trigger locks that render the gun virtually useless for self defense.

Apparently, neither one of them can read the Constitution.

Can you think of a better reason to vote
Libertarian?

The Million Lies March
by Thomas Sowell

May 17, 2000
Jewish World Review

"THE 'MILLION MOMS MARCH' for more gun control laws was not a march, nor were there a million moms. But these were only the first of the lies from that event -- and by no means the worst. Virtually every argument for more gun control laws is either based on lies or is grossly misleading." [Read the entire article]

Separating Gun Fact
from Gun Fiction

by David Lampo
San Diego Herald-Tribune

"The Million Mom March was an event designed to stir up emotions rather than promote rational thought. And when one looks at the facts about gun control, it's easy to see why the anti-gun lobby relies on emotion rather than logic to make its case." [Read the entire article]

MADD: Moms Against Data
and Deduction

by Ann Coulter
WorldNetDaily

"As [Professor John] Lott [author of the book More Guns Less Crime] has pointed out on similar occasions, the statistics are these: '98 percent of the time when people use guns defensively, simply brandishing a gun is sufficient to cause a criminal to break off an attack. In less than 2 percent of the time is the gun fired, and most of those -- about three-quarters of those -- are warning shots.'

"The housewife retorted -- and I quote: 'Well that's not my opinion.' ..Now we have an entire movement of babbling idiots demanding that their opinions be accorded equal standing with facts on the basis of their stunning achievement of having borne children." [Read the entire article]

Found on the internet...
...why common thieves are better than socialists:

  • Thieves have the guts to do the job themselves.

  • Thieves don't steal in the name of "justice".

  • Thieves don't masquerade as "liberals".

  • Thieves don't comprise a unified political mob of millions and call themselves "Democrats."

  • Thieves don't loath freedom and individuality.

  • Thieves don't undermine the Constitution.

  • Thieves don't promote mind control via "political correctness" and "hate" crimes.

  • Thieves don't own and control the "establishment" media.

  • Thieves don't indoctrinate our children to be unquestioning drones of the state.

  • Thieves can be arrested, tried, and convicted.

"A six-year-old African American shoots and kills a six-year-old white girl in Michigan. The six-year-old shooter has been suspended before for stabbing another child with a pencil. Police discover that he lives in a crack house with his criminal uncle with outstanding warrants for arrest. The boy's father is in jail. His mother is a drug addict. The President of the United States responds to the tragedy by summoning leaders of Congress to the White House to pass a new law, requiring trigger locks on guns. If ever there was a case revealing the moral bankruptcy (or is it idiocy?) of liberalism, this is it. ... Why would a family of criminals, like the one actually responsible for the murder of Kayla Rolland, observe a trigger-lock law if it was passed?"
     -- David Horowitz

During this election cycle, we'll see yet another result of wasteful government spending, this time in the name of campaign finance reform for presidential elections. Approximately $12,600,000 will be given to the so-called "Reform" Party, and probably help Pat "Hitler wasn't so bad" Buchanan spread his message.

Government funding of elections will benefit only those already entrenched in power. Limitations on others' rights to contribute to campaigns will only increase the power of newspapers and television. If I run an advertisement supporting the candidate of my choice, it's considered a campaign contribution, but when the publisher of the The New Republic uses its editorial page to wax poetic about how wonderful, Al "I invented everything" Gore is, or if the New York Times or Washington Post spend millions of dollars telling the life story of John McCain, it's considered news. My campaign contributions are limited to $1,000. How much do you think one column inch in the New York Times is worth? But when those same news organizations ignore Alan Keyes or Harry Browne, it's just editorial discretion.

The Libertarian Party qualifies for millions of dollars of matching campaign funds (and has in prior elections), but does not accept them! Welfare for politicians is wrong, too!

Australian Gun Control
Another failed "experiment"
by brain-dead liberals

In 1996, Australia banned the private ownership of most guns. Just like the brain-dead liberals in the United States, Australian lawmakers promised a safer country. What has happened?

  • homicides are up 3.2%;
  • assaults are up 8.6%;
  • armed robberies are up 45%; and
  • a dramatic increase burglaries and assaults.

In the 25 years before the gun ban, crime in Australia had been dropping steadily. Not surprisingly, a black market for guns has developed, with 1,000,000 Chinese-made semi-automatic weapons being imported into the country. As always, the bad guys won't have any problems getting weapons.
